On Sunday, August 24, AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling will co-promote this year’s Forbidden Door 2025 from the O2 Arena in Londo...
With the company riding a ton of momentum following AEW All In Texas 2025, Forbidden Door could recapture some of the magic that the event had during the first few years of the event.
Adding to the hype, this year’s show could possibly include the arrival of several stars either making their debut from another partnering promotion or announcing their signing with AEW themselves.
Here are seven potential debuts at AEW Forbidden Door 2025.
7. Isla Dawn
This included former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Isla Dawn after nearly seven years with the company.
The 31 year old star is still very young in her career and could have plenty of time left in the pro wrestling business with so much more to contribute.
Joining a growing AEW women’s division could be just what Dawn needs that could start with her arrival at AEW Forbidden Door 2025.
6. Kosei Fujita
The upcoming AEW Forbidden Door 2025 event will feature stars from multiple different promotions, including New Japan Pro Wrestling, CMLL and STARDOM.
One of the NJPW stars who has yet to make an appearance in an AEW ring as of yet is Kosei Fujita of TMDK.
2025 has been a huge year for the 23 year old star who won the Best of Super Juniors 32 tournament earlier this year.
Fujita should be a big part of this year’s AEW Forbidden Door 2025 pay-per-view event whether it is in singles competition or multi-man tag team action.
5. Cedric Alexander
During this stint with the company, Alexander won the WWE Cruiserweight Championship, the Raw Tag Team Championships and was part of the highly successful Hurt Business stable.
Since leaving WWE, Cedric surprised the pro wrestling world when he showed up in TNA Wrestling to kickstart a rivalry with Mustafa Ali that will see the former rivals face each other at TNA Slammiversary.
While he just arrived in TNA, this feels like a short term run with the promotion and could see Cedric make the jump to All Elite Wrestling where he could make his debut at AEW Forbidden Door 2025.
4. Shotzi Blackheart
On May 2, WWE announced several talent cuts with over 15 wrestlers either being released or having their contract not renewed.
One of the stars who had their contract not renewed was former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion Shotzi Blackheart.
Hitting the ground running on the independent scene since becoming a free agent, Shotzi has reestablished herself throughout several different promotions, such as GCW and MLW.
After making it no secret she is interested in signing with the promotion, Shotzi could make her debut in London, England at AEW Forbidden Door 2025.
3. Ace Austin
Following a six year run with TNA Wrestling, Ace Austin has become a free agent after announcing his departure from the promotion.
The former three-time TNA X-Division Champion proved himself as someone the company could depend on and was seen as a future world champion.
At just 28 years old, Austin is someone who would be a wonderful addition to the promotion known as “where the best wrestle.”
With a debut at AEW Forbidden Door 2025, Ace would have the right setting to make an immediate impact in front of a raucous crowd in London this August.
2. Dakota Kai
Spending eight years with the promotion, the former two-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion had proven herself to be one of the most reliable in-ring performers for the women’s division.
Immediately following her release, Dakota was seen as someone most within WWE expected to make their way to All Elite Wrestling.
Fitting in nicely with the current landscape of the AEW women’s division, Kai is someone who would make an excellent opponent for the likes of Kris Statlander, Megan Bayne or Willow Nightingale.
1. Saya Kamitani
The 28 year old star has become the face of STARDOM and Joshi wrestling overall after undergoing a masterful character change that saw her turn heel in 2024.
Now sitting atop her promotion as the current World of Stardom Champion, Kamitani has been unstoppable and recently added to her legacy by retiring her former mentor Tam Nakano earlier this year.
While she has had one match in Ring of Honor back in 2024, Kamitani has yet to make an appearance in All Elite Wrestling, which should make her debut at AEW Forbidden Door 2025 that much sweeter for her fans.
