With several former AEW champions already making the move away from the promotion to join WWE, there are still more to come.

From former champions who are reportedly free agents soon to others that may have a bit longer to wait, there are plenty of compelling prospects.

Here are six former AEW champions that could sign with WWE.

6. Chris Jericho

Former WWE Champion, AEW star Chris Jericho

It has been reported that Chris Jericho will see his AEW contract expire in late 2025, making him a potential free agent in 2026.

While Jericho could always end up re-signing with AEW, his current absence has continued to raise eyebrows.

Having recently softened his stance on a potential return to WWE by acknowledging he’s at least open to the idea, Jericho could very well be headed back to WWE in 2026.

Definitely a shoo-in for induction into the WWE Hall of Fame in the future, it would make total sense for Jericho to end his career in the company.

5. Britt Baker

Britt Baker’s absence from AEW has raised eyebrows and led to speculation about her future with the company.

Tony Khan noted in the pre-All In media call that Britt Baker was still currently contracted with AEW and he would be happy to bring her back in the right spot.

However, Baker has been largely quiet about her absence, contract status or plans for the future.

Although she is seemingly unavailable to make the leap at the minute, that doesn’t mean that WWE won’t someday see the debut of another former AEW Women’s World Champion after recently signing Blake Monroe (Mariah May).

4. Anthony Bowens

AEW star Anthony Bowens

Anthony Bowens is not only a former AEW World Tag Team Champion but also an AEW World Trios Champion.

More recently embarking on a journey as a singles star, it isn’t known when his AEW contract is up, but he did sign with the company in November 2020 around the time numerous young talents were reportedly signing five-year deals.

After splitting from Acclaimed partner Max Caster, Bowens has debuted his Pride of Pro Wrestling gimmick to continued fan support but has yet to get a push at a singles title.

Having notable past history of WWE interest before signing with AEW, perhaps Bowens could find himself joining the likes of Ricky Saints and Jade Cargill in making the switch to WWE.

3. Paige

Even before she officially departed AEW, fans were already wondering if former AEW Women’s World Champion Saraya would ever make a WWE return.

Not ruling out a return to her Paige character, fans became intrigued about the possibility she could make an appearance at the all-female WWE Evolution PLE.

However, Paige did not make an appearance – but that doesn’t mean she won’t make a WWE return in the future.

Making an excellent potential reveal as a surprise entrant in a future Royal Rumble, hopefully WWE fans will get to see Paige back in the ring again.

2. Private Party

AEW's Private Party

Former AEW World Tag Team Champions Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen) haven’t been seen in AEW since they lost their titles to the Hurt Syndicate back in January 2025.

It has recently been reported that the pair may be set to see their contracts expire soon, and that there is interest from WWE.

As NXT is in the process of rebuilding its tag team division, adding this dynamic duo would come at the perfect time.

With them already being a good fit for NXT, we may see Zay and Quen bring the party to the Performance Center someday soon.

1. Jack Perry

WWE star Drew McIntyre and AEW star Jack Perry

Former TNT Champion Jack Perry hasn’t been seen in AEW since losing the title to Daniel Garcia at Full Gear 2024 last November.

While he would go on to make an appearance in NJPW in January 2025, he has yet to be seen in AEW again.

Perhaps someday Jack Perry might find his way to WWE, who could be keen to utilize his name recognition as the son of actor Luke Perry.

While it might be unlikely that Perry would ever end up feuding with CM Punk on WWE TV, hell has been known to freeze over every now and again.
